  • The things Waeco do not tell you

I had some meat spill some blood in the bottom of the waeco 80l over the weekend so i was cleaning it out last night but for the life of me could not get this funky smell out.

I then found a little cover plate in the bottom lifted it off and found an absorbant sponge that i did not know existed for the last 12 month. Lifted it out and fair nearly passed out from the smell. Its home soaking in bleach.

Nice that they could have told me god knows how much funk that thing has accumulated

Ah, c'mon Chester... That's where you grow your mushrooms...!

I'm guessing that's unique to the 80L fridge... My 40L definitely has a solid bottom.

Had the lid open & screwdrivers out within minutes of reading your post - thanks Chester. Don't want to risk any form of contamination on the supply of "essential yellow cans....)

Sponge has been retired still smelt suss.

Not sure weather to replace with something from the kitchen or just leave it out all together

I would replace it as it helps to keep odors down and you MAY need it in the future.
