Double Island Point, Who was there over Easter?

I heard some bad things like
Thousands turned up and packed the place out
There was something to do with the Sand mining that caused lots of poeple to get bogged
Some locals were charging $1,000 per car to do a recovery from that spot
On one inland track someone got seriously stuck and held everyone else up for 8 hours till that car could get recovered

did that really happen?

Well. we had some friends who were going but they bailed however THEIR friends still went. We were going to go there on a day trip but we baile and went somewhere else.
So the fiends who bailed got the story from the friends who went and the friends who bailed told my wife and she told me.
You got that?
Just trying to see if that was all true because it sounded like half of Brisbane was there.
