Hi all,

Apologies if this has been covered before but I searched and couldnt find anything similar...

I have spotted the above item on Fleabay. Comes with 2 x 7" DVD players integrated into headrests. Colour looks similar to the grey in my 90s and they look as though they will fit no problem. Cabling runs down the inside of the seat and hardwired into ignition (or wherever you like).

I currently have a cheapo setup for the kids but you need to strap it to the headrests and run cables (pain in the arse) every time you use it.

Price is $308 + postage ($30 ex Melb). Seems pretty reasonable to me. Ebay item # 260616363221 for those interested. Sorry cant seem to create hyperlink properly :?

Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with these units or similar (cheap Chinese I guess) DVD players. Ebay feedback looks good but I really need the experience that only PradoPointers can offer :lol: :lol:

Any thoughts?

Hi Chriso,
Not sure if they are the same as we have but they are great.
I bought them from Autobarn cos i needed them asap, I put them in a 98 pajero and drove to Falls Creek last year kept up with the kids .Ours could play through both screens or different dvds on each. I think they did skip a bit on rough stuff but otherwise ok.
Just an idea though when I refit them to the grande i will hook them up to second battery with iso switch, cos if you turn the key off and on again (fuel stops) the movie has to be restarted at the beginning.

I have recently put in some chinese headrest dvd players for the kids. Ours can play either both the same movie or 2 different ones or one from the head unit in the front. The ones I purchase can be found at the below address.

Ours came with IR headphones as well as a games console that we will never use. I was pretty happy with the sell, he seemed to keep me in the loop. It cost as much to get them covered as it did to purchase them.
We have only used the units a couple of times but they seem fine. I did notice that as you have to use a sleeve on the headrest post so they fit the larger hole, they did rattle so I used some silicone between the post and sleeve to stop that. It means these headrests don't have any movement but it hasn't effected the car seat at all if I wish to put the original units back in.
Running the wires was very easy and I run the units off the aux battery with a switch like Ian said so they don't turn off when you turn the car off each time.
I think I have covered all I have thought about but don't be scared to ask question if not.

I have the same problem with my current DVD player when switching ignition so wiring to the aux battery was a given.
