                    Re: Who's towing what ?

Congratz Wes Look forward to some pics...

I forgot about this thread ops:

Joined the CT club last weekend actually.

                    Bought this 2nd hand locally.
Home made camper trailer... about 10 years old but still going strong.
Built like a brick you know what and has a few little extras like 12v water pump on the sink, two by fluro's permanently mounted over the bed, custom kitchen (including the pantry!!) 80lt water tank underneath and another 80lt's of jerry can liquid (water or fuel) around the box. 2 x 9kg gas bottles and a massive tool box up the front!
Connects with a trigg hitch and anderson plug.

The seller dropped it off on Saturday arvo... showed us how to set it up.
Took about 30mins to erect with the annex but no walls. The walls took maybe another 10 mins tops.

That night we had 2mm of rain and i was a bit worried that it had a small puddle around one of the internal tent poles... turns out I had the canvas touching the grass somehow which allowed it to soak through ops:
Next night/day we had 30mm of rain and after adjusting my little mistake with the tent pole it was completely dry inside

It's self standing so there's no need for guy ropes in normal conditions... I put 1 up that night of rain as the wind was pretty strong but it hardly moved at all.

Now just to hook it up and see where it take me/us
                    Cheers, Leon

                      Re: Who's towing what ?

                      Snaga,
                      Thanks for that.
Wife and i raised the tent today and began the process of "Seasoning"the canvas today.with only the 1st section of the annexe up it seems huge.
We opted for the 100 litre tank upgrade and also got the electric pump.

Further inspection has revealed that a few things may be improved upon -but as they say:you get what you pay for.

So Far very happy-and so is the Wife!!!!!!

                        Re: Who's towing what ?

This is our home away from home, a 2004 Built Tought (SA) Heavy Duty Off Road Camper Trailer. My pride and joy to work on (well apart from the Prado). Currently upgrading the tail lights to LED and then adding some new LED Lights to the front tool box and jerry can area. I have just added a new 70L underneath water tank with pump and installed a tap to the kitchen. Only problem is, we do not get to use it enought, maybe 4 times a year. Its next trip is Fraser Island at the end of October for a Friday to Monday long weekend, cannot wait!

Out first outing with the new Prado...

The new rubber and water tank fill point...

Added the baintech isolator and power plug panel...

Our setup in full, we love it! Just do not get to use it enough...
