Local couple went off in their 99 V6 Prado for a weekend journey to find some yabbies at a spot about 140km NE of Kalgoorlie. When they didn't return by Sunday evening their friends began to worry. The woman didn't front for work on the Monday, her partner missed his golf appointment. The alarm was raised and we started a search on Tuesday. Aircraft with SES observer spotted the vehicle and it's 2 occupants about 250km E of Kalgoorlie.
I went out with a V8 T/dsl troopy, a pile of recovery gear and a tag along film crew. We left Kalgoorlie at about 3.30pm and finally reached the couple about 4 hours later. Their Prado had copped a stick through the radiator, right in the gap below the TJM steel bar and above the factory bash plate. Towed them out with the troopy. Took 2 and a half hours to travel the 55km along the track to the Trans Access Road and then a further 3 hours to travel the remaining 210km back to Kalgoorlie.
They had everything except communications or PLB/EPIRB.
Anyway, the chockies arrived yesterday morning!
