150 lashes is so easy drinking! I have to agree with Matt that Sundowner goes down alright on a hot day as well!

We've both been partial to a Corona before too Matt!

Yep Corona with lime is nice and James Squire is pretty good that is the sundowner , golden ale, four wives but, as I posted earlier, I reckon 150 lashes takes 1st prize.

        Pity it's so expensive though!

        • I will drink any CUB beers... Also, coronas, sol, xxxx, squire, red back, etc.
But the last 20 or so slabs I have bought have all been VB, since they changed the recipe back it's all I have been drinking.
          Cheers, Josh

            • Little Creatures. They do quite a variety now.

Also partial to Dog Bolter, when they get around to brewing a batch.

Mountain Goat is a very nice ale, brewed in Victoria. I haven't figured out how to get it north of the border yet.

                    • Burliegh Brewing Beer

OK, So for my 2 cents on this topic. I do consider myself a bit of a beer connoisseur (aka beer snob) and I tend to favour naturally brewed craft beers. I have tried a LOT of different beers as it is a passion of mine.

I also like to support Australian businesses where it makes sense and we do make some of the best beer around but unfortunately most beer brands are owned by overseas companies.

But I have found these gems from Burleigh Brewing that are now getting much more readily available and can be bought now at BWS, Dan Murphys etc

They have a range which I find fascinating, so I'll give you my take on these for those who are interested (a lot of research I have had to do on this topic ;-)

                      - If you like German Wheat Beer, their "Hef" Beer won best German Wheat beer recently, first time a non German beer has got this award.
                      - If you like Coopers (I do too, it is also a good Aussie owned beer), try the "28 Pale Ale". It is a 70's style ale and once you try it you might be converted from Coopers as I was.
                      - By far my favourite by name and taste is "My Wife's Bitter". Massive flavour and goes down a treat. I always keep this one in the fridge for me.
                      - The safest beer is Duke Lager with the blue label. Will suit most people as a good all rounder
                      - Trying to lose a few Kilos? Big Head is in fact a "No Carb" beer. It is actually quite good. A bit less flavour and may not be your favourite after the first sip, but persevere with the bottle and 2-3 sips in your tastes adjust. They are still full alcohol content but no carbs....go figure.
                      - Fig Jam IPS is an Indian Pale Ale. It will knock your socks off at 7.0% alchohol. I find it a bit too strong but will suit some people.

                      - The Duke Helles (Green Label is not for me) but I am sure some people like it.

I urge you to check them out and give an Aussie company a go, they are doing great things. Some restaurants have them on tap now in Brisbane :
                      http://burleighbrewing.com.au

If you are big beer drinker and looking for a lower price brew then this may not fit your budget at $60 per case. I don't drink much at a time so for the enjoyment it gives me I can easily justify spending a little bit more.

For the record, I have zero affiliation with this company but their beer has me converted.

Ba ha ha - two thing conspired against me, Canadian spelling and lack of coffee.

That should be "draught" for the record....

bloody southerners! Boags draught - the superior Tasmanian brew.

Actually, in saying that, given I do my own brewing, and have managed to refine what I am doing, anything I brew myself...
