  • Cleaning Products

    Hey All,
Spent an hour washing the toy tonight, and it brought me to thinking...
What cleaning products do you use? And what tips do you have?
I recently bought this for the tyre (No it's not a flamin shiner, but it is GREAT for making the dirt run off, providing you do it semi regularly, ie every wash)http://www.eagleone.com/pages/produc...=1003&cat=5005
    Any opinions guys???

Been there done that. I've always found I'd have to get them to touch up some parts once they hand the keys over. I also hate that oily crap they use to wipe the interior with (to make it all nice and shiny), it actually collects dust easier and I've noticed the trim fades. Especially hate it when they put it on the steering wheel, which I find is just downright dangerous! Anyway, I do a better job in half the time at home, saving myrself an easy $50 in the process.

Absolutely agree!! We used to have a 20l drum of that... But once it was empty I tried to use up the rest of the cleaning products in the shed... There is NO comparison,... Great stuff that is!!

Port Lincoln has shrunk rather dramatically since the last time i was there, maybe it has been all the rain that has caused the shrinkage

                  Re: Cleaning Products

Given the current locust plague in Victoria, I was wondering if CT18 is sufficient, if not, what are other people using to get them off? Once they dry, they're absolutely hard to get off, especially when they splatter all over the place (front, underside and wheels). Using the compressed water jet at the carwash to get them off doesn't work well even with the "bug presoak" and is bad for the paintwork when the hose is used up close.

LOL SERIOUS? Wouldn't that stuff ruin the paint?? Not only that, how many cans do you go through on a really bad run in with a locust swarm?

Not at all. It's also good for removing tree sap.

At $5 a can it's cheaper than any "bug" specfic cleaner and works just as good or better.

Try it on a small patch if you doubt me

I've used WD40 to clean lots of things, but i've never used it on a paint surface I wanted to keep intact? Certainly never thought of using it on a car body?
I take it you've been doing this for some time Mick and not have any issues with paint work?
