For getting bugs off I usually lay two old towels on te bonnet (or buggified area) and wet them, leave for 20 mins and then re-wet the area. Do this two or three or four times then wash as normal and all good... But it does take a bit of extra time (but easily done between mowing the lawn and trimming the hedge)
I have not tried it on car paint , have used it on other painted surfaces and I will have no problems testing eucalyptus oil on a small surface to see how it works . It cleans just about everything else with no issues .
I know of a chap who uses napisan and thinks the enzymes break down the goo... sounds plausible :?
What does his paintwork look like now?
Like it has just rolled off the showroom! I saw the vehicle after a run from NSW to SA and believe me it was all dried and caked on. A couple of terry towels soaked in napisan and left to absorb into the blood and guts on the paint, a quick wash and it was looking new again.
