I have a question... What is with all the disasters in Aus?

Hi all

What is with all the disastrous events in Australia this year? We got QLD with the flooding and Cyclones (Thank goodness most people are still with us) flooding in VIC and some of NSW flooding up north of WA, a cyclone that nearly hit Perth which is a WTF moment then the next week where i live, Kelmscott Roleystone Hill we had the fires so did the people living in the swan valley... we are only 6 weeks or so into the year... what else is to come?

I don't know anybody that hasn't been effected by all these events in some way or another with personal experiences or family and friends going through it.... I hope mother nature jumps off her high horse some time soon....

I think it is the same pattern worldwide. who expects Texas will be shivering with snow.

I think a lot of people are wondering that.
But too early too tell if it's anything to do with us affecting the climate ...... besides if it is..probably too late anyway.
Old timers will say it's just the weather ...happened before and will happen again.

We've been personally impacted in a small way--wife's school got flooded out so she was on deck down there all weekend ...I went up north to help the farmers fix their fences.
You can only do what you can.

That's OK. The way the government's allowing the cost of living to sky-rocket, I cant afford to live past 2012 anyway!

Yep, 2012!!!

Technically the Mayan Callendar doesn't predict the end of the world, more rather the start of a new era.

Either way, the climate world-wide is completely rooted. La nina, el nino (sp?) is just an excuse. Yes these climate changes cycle but not to the extent we've seen lately. Whether it's human impact that's rooting the climate or not, wouldn't hurt us to rule that possibility out!

I must say i love that poem - and i'm not one for poetry... When I get asked about all the flooding and fires and droughts here at work i find i just qoute a few lines and smile...

Have just spent good money replacing the exhaust with a Beaudesert system, and was considering a Steinbauer chip v soon. Not gonna get much value out of these if it all comes to an end in under a years time.

If the worlds coming to an end; no point in having any money in the bank then. I reckon i should blow it all on the Prado and go round OZ for a year
