we are back... but I haven't finished the trip website, have done a few days, still a week or so to go. Lots of things to catch up with so it's a low priority but will complete it and let you know in case you want to read the rest. We decided to high-tail it home from Port Augusta as the weather was looking dicey and that combined with being somewhat "touristed out" in general, decided to include Burra (where were were heading for next) in another jaunt sometime.

    Cheers, Nige

      Absolutly awesome nige,
Good to see familys with kids as young as yours going on trips like this just great. Between your trip notes and chippys there is no excuse for anyone can get bored or lost when venturing out up north.
My kids are a bit old to do this sort of trip and its not cool to be seen with mum and dad, but im not too old and will start planning my trip when the car arrives.

Sounds like an awesome time Nige ... I'm hanging out for the last instalment - it makes a great read.

We took the kids, for our first big trip, when they were 2, 4 and 6. The older 2 were bordering on being too old to be cool with the olds - until I offered them a term off school - then we were cool again

        Cheers

mine are 8 & 5.. the 8yo missed a term but did various school work supplied by his teacher and wrote a diary, the 5yo missed some finger painting at kinder Actually, they have both learnt so much about Australia and also turned into little fisherholics... I'm going to have to get my boat licence now (have father-in-laws boat in our shed) as they keep asking when we can go fishing in the boat!

The last installment will have one event worth reading... we run into some people we'd last met a month prior! but you'll have to wait
