  • Davies Plain Track

    Hello
I am planning a trip down south at easter and was wondering if anybody has recently been on the Davies Plain Track. If so what is its condition etc. and what was the Murray crossing like.

    From late last year:
    Davies Plain Track
Try searching first and then link into existing threads so that complete information is contained together rather than being fragmented over dozens of different threads like the bloody tyre threads in each different section.

Dosn't have any recent info but some great photos of the track and surrounds:

ExploreOz is also a great site for getting track conditions.

      Re: Davies Plain Track

I was down there last weekend. The track was closed and we ran into some workers at the southern end of the track. They were hauling trailer loads of gravel up to DPT and patching the bad parts of the track (deep bog holes) and doing general repairs with an excavator. The surrounding tracks in and out of the area are in good condition. Followin the works I dare saw that DPT will be in it's best condition. Call the local rangers and they can give you a heads up on conditions and closures.

The Murray was up, that was the interesting part of the trip. It was about bonnet depth (my vehicle hasn't been lifted) and flowing quite quickly when we crossed. We had 10 vehicles in our group, if we didn't I dare say I wouldn't have attempted the crossing.
