Most of the crew assembled Friday evening at Pomona Caravan Park for a nights stay before I joined them early Saturday morning.

We left early as the crew had packed and was on the road by 8:45am and proceeded to head out of Pomona in a North Easterly direction to check out Fozzy’s planned route for the morning.
It wasn’t long before we hit the dirt and we had come to our first challenge for the morning, the Kinmond Creek Rd Track.

With Fozzy leading we climbed the track fairly easily dodging the ruts along with some careful wheel placement at times on a slippery surface.
We had only one slight hiccup having to perform a couple of snatch recoveries with D4D-GXL due to the camper trailer in tow whilst running road rubber.
All in all it just added a bit more excitement to the morning. The views at the top of the Cootharaba Lookout was sensational and made for a nice rest stop.

Shortly after we headed back into Pomona for fuel and made our way South West towards Imbil and into the State Forest where we stopped for lunch during the early arvo at One Putt Waterhole.
It was clear that the recent Qld floods has had quite an effect on the Rivers and Creek systems in this area.

From here we headed South passing the Turn Off for Landcruiser Mountain Park stopping for a photo moment at the famous Jimna Fire Tower.

For those that are interested, Richoson and Dave joined up and became supporters to the “Save the Jimna Fire Tower Action Group”
becoming members under Pradopoint.
For those interested you can check out the link to the site here http://www.jimnafiretower.com/
We camped for the night not too far from the Fire Tower at spot called Peach Trees.
Here’s a few pics of the camp spot and the birds trying to get at Fozzy’s bread from a late arvo snack.

By Sunday morning we were off again this time heading in a South Easterly direction passing through the Jimna State Forest, Imbil State Forest,
Conondale National Park and Bellthorpe State Forest.
The conditions were damp and a bit wet at times whilst sometimes slippery due to the clay surface. But was quite a nice drive overall.

All up that journey on Sunday covered 106klms over 4hrs with us finally ending the weekend at Neurum Creek Bush Retreat which is just outside Woodford.
Here we spoke with the parks operator and to checked out the facilities for a possible stay in the future.

By 1:30pm or so it was time to head home as the cars sure needed a wash.
