WA Perth to Wedge Island day Easter

Planning on going to Wedge Island, Lancelin area during Easter long weekend, prob go for day or two.
just EOI at the moment to see who might be interested to go as well, I haven't been there before either. So will be good if we knew someone who knows the area.
Fishing, camping and 4wd! Anyone keen?

we will be up in perth anyways staying with friends over easter, so it might not be too much of a stretch to get down there, if i can convince everyone. Might even be able to sneak in a dive

The only way there now is on the the Indian Ocean Drive which takes all the fun out of the trip,I can not go as unfortunatly I will be heading up to Useless Loop and maybe a quick fish at Steep Point. A suggestion is to go up the h'wy to Wedge and dive up the beach through the dunes in between Greys and Wedge - plenty of places to fish and put up a tent ....

so you can't do Lanno to wedge on the beach now?

from what I have been told by people that reside in Lancelin is the beach is no go because you will be passing through the army training land . it has allways been the case but they turned a blind eye but now theyr're cracking down --- This is only what I have been told by the locals mite be because they're sick of yahoos driving through I do know you can not take the tracks up there , it may pay to check with the gin gin shire

yeah you arent allowed to go up the beach anymore,think there is info on defence's website.but i agree its time we had a WA PP trip.

Edit.I have just received a email back from the local Gin Gin shire ,Is a bit confusing but basically you can still cross the firing range via the beach if they are not using the range.

I,m playing up in Jurien in the sanddunes and on the beaches over Easter,Keep your eye out for me if anyone else is going up.

Hey guys,

I'd love too as well but I will be down in Esperence at that point, hopefully playing in some beach and bush down there for two weeks
Then up to Kal to show the kids the big hole in the ground and some explosives then back home.

Should be fun!!!
