G'day guys,
I have recently joined the Prado community and for the easter long weekend I decided to get away. So I booked a few spots down in Sundown National Park.
Having never been there before I didn't know what to expect, but turns out it is absolutely amazing.
Had a few dramas with the people I was going down with who had problems with their old Hilux, so we lightened the load and cramed everything into the Prado.
Got held up at Cunningham's Gap with the road works, as did a few thousand other people. (crazy stuff)
Made it down to Sundown and started the journey inwards. Took me over 2 hrs to get in as I was taking it real easy as my Prado is still stock and I have owned it for just over 3 weeks, and plus I was carrying a lot of gear so I looking out for rocks.
The campsite was awesome, literally 3 meters from the water. They have also just replaced the long drops as the flooding that went through ripped the old ones away. The amount of devistation is also still evident with so much plant material laying everywhere.
Did a bit of exploring but was refrained from some tracks as I wasn't to sure about leaving the bash plates behind me. But will make sure I take them on next time.
Will post up some photos when I load them on the computer.
