    Hey mate
Please dont tell everyone about inskip point it is the best place to go (we go there every year for 2 weeks) but we need to keep it a secret:-) i cant go past there it is great. North Stradbroke is great as well the boody barge fees kill it for me.

Hi Ken, Inskip is great and handy to shpos etc. but!!!! if you want abit more privacy try Teewah beach between Noosa and Double Island point. Down side is it now requires a permit to drive on the beach. If nothing else have acouple of nights there on your wau to Inskip.
See this link for some info

        Hi Ken
The best spots in Qld have already been mentioned..Inskip and Stradbroke Island (Flinders Beach). Teewah is also good but can get blown out at times as it is quite exposed.

            Hey Pro660,
Check out Kinkuna National Park near Bundaberg. The camping is fantastic and you couldn't get closer to the water. We go there often and it is very remote and quite. Pristine beaches and clear blue ocean. It's only about 25km's from Bundaberg so all your shopping needs are covered. No beach permits or barges to pay for either and if you camp at the Northern end it's not on Nat park land so no permits required. No problems with having a fire and as i mentioned, very remote. You would have the place to yourself if not on QLD school holidays.
            Cheers

Mate did 1770 recently great spot but would recommend the park at Agnes Waters as it has new managers and has recently been updated. We found particularly with the little ones that the sandies at 1770 ate you alive and they were not as bad at agnes (THEY SPRAY THE PARK) There is also a great pizza place at Agnes whether you stay there or at 1770 that has fantastic kids meals and excellent pizza for adults for a night out.
We were impressed and you should NOT miss the 4wd drive through Deepwater National Park with visits to the beaches and campsites etc. let me know if you want any further info

Definitely consider Moreton Island, there is a variety of campsites on both the eastern and western beaches.

All of the above are great - You mentioned going as far north as the Whitsundays- Cape Hillsborough just north of Mackay is good with a commercial park as is Smalleys Beach NP near there. Burrum River NP is good on the north side of the river via Woodgate. You can drive north to Kinkuna NP from there as well.
Byfield NP out from Rocky is really cool although the camping is not right on the beach but up in the bush behind -- and if the track is as chewed up as it was last year then towing a trailer in there could be a real mission- one long steep rutted sandune with a couple of nice changes of direction on the way up. It is quite remote in spite of being close to Rockhampton as it borders on Shoalwater bay Military training camp-- go too far north and they will shoot

This is exactly what I've been looking for. Are all these locations still alright in December/January?

Have just moved to Hervey Bay and a local said if you want a spot as good as Fraser with no barges, no dingos and only a maximum of a 120 people (not 120 campers but people) over 10klms of beach then head to Kinkuna.

Been there 2 in 2 months and it is paradise. Ranger was the nicest bloke you could meet and rung us before we went to say be careful as they are doing road works so let them know when driving on the tracks so they know we are around. Some Muppets took dirt bikes there and people told him and he showed up next morning with Police and went looking for them so they don't tear the place up or wreck the peacefulness. I didn't see more than 2 cars in 3 days and nobody camped near us. Paradise. Sand can be very very soft so watch driving and your tides.

One more thing the reason it is so good is it is kept a secret so keep it between PP members.
Will post a shot of my Prado on the campsite and the beach.
