10,000k, 21 days, a prado, a 3yo, a 8mo, and me

My husband is currently working somewhere near Tammin in WA.
He's been gone since before Easter, and I have decided to go for a drive.

From home to Adelaide to ceduna to follow my nose to boulder/kal, then on to Perth.
Stay in Perth with friends, then find where ever my husband is working at the time.... Then on to Geraldton, and am seriously considering going up to Paraburdoo to catch up with a friend up there that works for Rio.

So, am I mad??? Nah
To do all this, in roughly 21 days with 2 small kids?
I won't be doing a lot of off road stuff, but hell if I'm going to drive that damn far I may as well have a look around.

So any natives to those area want to offer up some things to see, and places to go?
And any advice???
Any must see places? Any to avoid like the plague??

Adelaide is definitely a place to avoid!!! think there is a nothern bypass somewhere through the simpson? Cos, if you visit - you'll love it so much and never ever want to leave!!!


Seriously though, in the interests of offering good info - how far off your intended route are you inclined to venture? 21 days doesn't seem like a long time for the trip and a heap of sight seeing squeezed in - especially with two kids in tow!

I lived in Adelaide whilst at uni, and as it is only 5/5.5 hours from here, we are staying our first night there with a friend.
Adelaide also had Haigs chocolate, this is a very good thing!!

I came from Perth to Adelaide via the Nullabor. Did it uite comfortably in 3 days day driving and avoiding sun in my eyes. With two young kids you would see heaps and arrive in Kal from Adelaide in 3 days. Kal to Perth is about 8 hours so allow 10 with kids.

Tammin is country and north eastish of Perth. You could probably pop in on the way from Kal to Perth (I think) May be a good idea to break that trip up.

Geradlton is a day trip (full day with kids). Worth popping in to Kalbarri fo a day and overnight stay.

Can't help with Parabudoo, but sure others can. There are many interesting places while heading north like shell beach near exmouth. Also pebble beach etc. timing is important, avoid the wet season!!!!!
