Kav / Andrew, I spoke to staff at Musgrave Station - confirms the road from Artemis to Dunbar is impassable - Mitchell cannot be crossed - and suggest it will be like this for August. It looks like the Gamboola bypass.

We spoke to the guys at Musgrave when we filled up before heading that way, they were emphatic that it was a bad idea, and that was before the massive wet season they have just had. There is an old ababndoned (semi abandoned anyway) gold mine along the track, worth a stop and a look. Damn I wish I was heading that way again this year, you will love it.

Moderators, please lock this thread and throw away the key.
It’s inconceivable that these people can have so much fun with barely a thought for those of us that have to go work!

Good luck with the start of the trip Kav. 11 days and counting here. I can't wait to get in the car and just drive.
Went out to Walhalla on the Saturday to give my rig a shake test to see if anything is loose and making noises. Looks like everything passed that test.
Fitted the water tanks and did all the piping today and I get the final service on Friday and then all prepared and ready to go.
Hope to see you up there guys.90 series prado with lots of stuff.

4 days for me. Spent the weekend packing camper and car and now all I have to do is fuel up, beers in the fridge and point it north. Debating whether to put a rear locker in before I go, might do heads or tails on this tonight.
Must be painful 1st prado, but I believe you have inflicted some pain in the past going to the top in 03.
Getting some pp stickers made up so look out for me and come say g'day

We are leaving on Sat and will be travelling with a fellow Alice Springs resident, in fact I believe he left today!! Look out for two 80 series (one with NT plates) a 100 series and my prado. Might even be able to kick back a few quiet ones while catching the odd barra. Sorry to everyone else, just had to put that in..........Ha Ha

Just came back from the tip. Finished the Bloomfield, OTT, Frenchmans and the CREB tracks without any damage or problems. Ran into Kav on the Frenchmans track. I also enjoyed the 5 beaches short track on the tip starting at Somerset beach.2004 GXL V6, full house

Boomslang, how did you go at Palm Creek? The exit north was a mess when we were there and everyone was being winched through.
Cheers

hey guys , i did palm ck south -north with damage to side steps , mud spat and bumper , one guy in a patrol ute with monster tyres and lift went through n-s the night before and peeled a tyre , had to winch out , the guy who went through n-s after i went through just stopped his patrol ute at the bottom and pulled out the winch . i don't think to much would make it through n-s without winching . i met a guy in a v8 cruiser ute who had to winch out going s-n . boomslang how did you enjoy the pascoe on frenchmans track ?03 grande v6 , with added stuff that makes it go places .
