Hey guys,

just got a mate coming down weekend after next and I got a few days off. Was looking at going 4wding...

UPDATE:

well it seems as though so far no one is keen to head out for a drive. So I've made a decision and plan on heading down to coorong and then robe/beachport...

Still open invitation so feel free to tag along.

Plan at this stage is Going to head down on sat morning and do coorong, staying overnight. Then Sunday heading to robe/ beachport for another night. Then back on monday via mclarenvale wineries... Nice easy drive and get to test out the maxtrax... Should be a fun extended weekend.

would loved to have joined you for the weekend but I literally just committed to take my daughter for a netball carnival at Kadina that weekend. I know where I would rather be but I know where I will be if I back out on the netball now. Have a fun and safe weekend.

Rob - we will be down at Salt Creek over the weekend for some Salmon, unless the rain comes in hard (that's the best weather for them, but it ain't fun!). We will be quite some KMs past tea tree crossing.

To get from the Coorong to Robe, take the Old Coorong Road. It's a better drive than the highway and could be a bit wet by now, so could be fun. You turn onto it about 1km past the Keith Cantara Rd turn off, and follow it all the way through.

Ian, I suspect TT crossing is still fairly deep? About 1-2kms up from 42mile they have fenced the beach off so you cant go any further unless you go around the back way and ignoring the signs (most people are throwing the DO NOT ENTER sign in the salt water). There is alot or erosion up there, so tread carefully as the dropoffs are unforgiving and will write your rig off.

Yep keeping a tab on what you have read and not read on the new forum is not easy. I often have numerous PM's to deal with when I log on. By the time I have them sorted I have timed out on the whats new and get stuff all.

Hey Iantz, should of stopped in but I didnt see your post. Didn't see any prados so didn't stop in anywhere.

First night was a bit wet, arrived at night and pulled in between the beach and back track. Beautiful spot...

Ended up with the tide coming in and rather high and the erosion meant there where a few spots I had no choice but to make tracks. We drove almost the full length to the murray mouth before we stopped for a cuppa. At this point realized I made a slight mistake with my wiring.... Main battery dead and the isolator had shit itself. Had to disconnect everything and start off the aux. No jumper leads made it interesting...

Few dead seals and got bogged a few times.

Then off to Robe. Did little dip and seemed the only time we got bogged was when my mate was driving. He even managed to get bogged going down a decent descent. He also managed to jump out of the tracks and almost rolled down a hill... Sideways... So took the wheel and a bit of reverse action had us out... Started off in coorong with 18 psi but got to little dip and couldn't be assed getting out so drove till we got stuck... Which eventually we only needed to drop them to get out of the place... Definitely heading back. It was pretty good - would love to do some fishing down there next time.
