Birdsville races 2011 from SA

after changing our plans last year due to the rain (did the Finke Gorge run instead, fantastic) We, the co-pilot and myself are planning a 10 day run this year to do the races. The route would be Adelaide to Broken Hill, Cameron's Corner, The Bore Track, Innamincka, Coongie Lakes (if open), Cordillo Downs, Birdsville (possibly just the Thurs & Friday night), back down the Birdsville track with a stop probably in the Flinders to cap it off. Dates are Sat 27th. August to Tues. 7th, Sept.
We tent it and plan to do around 2-300ks per day with a couple of 2 night camps to break it up.

Hi Mate, we are doing a trip to Birdsville this year too but different route. August 13 leave Brisbane - Mt Isa - tennant Creek - Alice - Kings Canyon - the Rock - Oodnadatta Track - Lake Eyre - Birdsville track - Birdsville on about August 31, the races then a quick squirt to Brisbane. If you change your plans to head up the birdsville track we could meet up

JC - sound like a great trip. Would be good to read your report and see pics after completing it!
