  • First trip in the new Prado to Mount Disappointment

Well after all the hastles and time to try decide we got the 2004 VX on Friday.
We couldn't let the weekend go by without field testing it.
So teamed up with my brothers family in the Pathfinder we headed of to see Mt Disappointment.

We had a great trip and the car went fantastic.

We ended at the bottem of a track with the other side being of the creek impassable withour serious winching and clearance.
So a tricky turn around and back up we went.

I'll post the track tomorrow if any want to know them

All in all a great day out and the car was easy to drive both on and off road. So much so Brenda drove a decent part of the day and enjoyed evry minute of it.

Went back over the map to see where we went.
      We started on
      Mill Range Rd: Easy
Dry Creek Rd: Easy till after Patons track where is soon became impassable due to deep ruts on one side.
From there we were going to have lunch at Andersons Garden and do Harry's Nose West track but that is still shut.
We did walk around the gate and have lunch at the shelters.
From there We did West creek very easy.
Then Harrys Nose East, 55 Track, Comet link and Poison post Rd. A few boggy areas, Easy/Medium.
To finish we tried Nylander spur which was medium with a lot of regrowth close to the track.
There are some ruts and holes to negotiate on a narrow track with a great view.
The spur winds down to the creek where we had to turn around. There is a clearing just short of the creek to do this.
The track out of the creek was impassable for us and was very rutted and steep.
      A great day out.
