The base was surpringly firm. I had to be snatched out of one of them where I ran out of clearance and misjudged the depth of the ruts. I ended up on the belly with the wheels just spinning freely in the water. The Disco 3 in front of me had no problem with just that little bit of extra clearance and the other Prado behind me learned from my mistake and took a different line. Apart from that little incident we had no trouble. As you said it is a great track. The most difficult thing doing it from East to West like we did must be the exit on the Pascoe. The Pascoe itself is not that difficult but can be tricky as the base consists of big round rocks. Take the wrong line and you may damege a tyre agaist some sharp rocks.Originally posted by wooley View Postlooks like a great track.. whats the traction like in those muddy bits? any troubles?2004 GXL V6, full house

Kav, I enjoyed this picture. I remembered this section so well. This must be closest I ever came to putting the Prado on its side. With the difference in height between the 2 tracks and the weight of the rooftop tent on the top, I was driving at some scary angles. There must have been a 50m section where I did not even breath I was so scared. I just crawled along at a snails pace.Originally posted by kav View Post2004 GXL V6, full house

The Pascoe was running 5 feet deep when we got to it last year, zero chance of crossing it, I couldn't even walk halfway as I would have been swept downstream. Gonna have to go back and give it another try.
Great Pics, and Kav is right the pics really don't show how rough the entry into the Pasco really is, we stopped at the first big drop off and then had to turn around with the camper on the back, that was fun.
