  • Peake - SA - Anyone have the contact details?

    Guys,

I had the number about a year ago, but have seemed to have mis-placed it.

I stopped at the old Peake Telegraph station off the Oodnadatta track last year. It was about an hour or so out of William Creek, there is no perminant residents, just some ruins and an old copper mine. The track in was amazing - just fields of quartz that looked like snow, was almost like you were on another planet!

I would head for William Creek and visit Peak from there - from memory, there is no camping either.

Jase - I think it'll be a week day trip from the rumours I've heard.

Dave - please organise a fuel drop for all the petrol prados. Us diesels wouldn't want to have the day ruined just because you all run out of fuel at lunch time....

Hi, Lauterbach sand hills, Peake. They have actually taken ownership of the post office in Peake so the number above will get you there.
Good lluck for a weekend, they've been booked out for years.

                  Cheers.

If you don't have any luck with peake then let me know, I may (no gaurantees) be able to organize something in the riverland where our club does sand driving practice, private property with at least 1 dune that is almost impossible to get over, cost would be a token compared to prices being asked for at Peake based on MLC's link.

                      Cheers Andew

That link mentions a 2 day run and 1 dinner. Must be a 10-course dinner prepared by amateur Masterchef cooks!
