  • WA PP'ers Powerline run - Sunday 25th September

    Hello fellow WA PP'ers.

Myself and a couple of friends are revisiting the Mundaring Powerlines run on Sunday 25th September and are probably going to do the track that runs south of and parallel to the normal route (same start and end points).

We are meeting in the KFC car park at 8.30am for an 8.45am depart.

We did the normal track three weeks ago and it was OK for even a stock Prado with some careful driving. See Darren's thread here for details and photo's.

Vehicles should be fitted with front and rear recovery points at a minimum and have a compressor for re-inflating your tires. Your own recovery gear is advisable but most people will be happy to lend to you if you ask nicely.

UHF channel 18 as Darren's suggestion of 22 is a blocked channel for Tx.

Typical PP trip rules apply and everybody is responsible for their own actions. Nobody will be pressurised into doing anything past their comfort zone and nobody will be left behind.

This is not Darwinism. Survival of the fitest must rule, unless they are buying or supplying the beer, in which case they MUST be protected at all costs.

God help the WA govt if they ever try to make that track inaccessable!

                    Hi,

I havent been on a PP run before, but definitely interested in this if I can drag the family out of bed. I was up there a few weeks ago and did what I think was the standard run, which was very wet, and a bit challenging in the standard car but heaps of fun. Keen to get back out there for another go...
I havent got an recovery points yet - other than the standard tie down points in the 150 GXL and the tow hitch(which I have used for a couple of very soft recoveries), but hoping to fit the ones from ARB this weekend if I can, maybe even a winch as well if all goes to plan.
2011 D4D Manual, ARB Winch bar, Uniden radio, 9500lb Winch, Tracklander copy roofrack, 150L/Min Ebay compressor, and a very long shopping list...

Sounds great, we had a couple of stock vehicles with us the last two times we did the run with no drama's at all.

                            That sucks,
Pity it isnt a day before or a day after as that day is my son's 6th birthday. I know he would love to come for the run with me but the rest of the wider family dont understand what its like to own a 4WD so I think I may well have to sit this one out..... again!
Anyway, I will keep watch so that if the date wavers, then I will be across it.

                            Cheers
