  • SA: Peake Day Trip, 26th Sept

Went down to Peake on monday just gone, we all took the day off so that we could get out and have a day trip together.

    Those in attendance were:
Matt & Lori (Matty & Loz), with the three kids
Ian & Jo (iantz), with the 2 boys
Dave (sapradogxl), no Lorna or kids (they decided Scotland was a better holiday)

Unfortunately, Rob & Lea couldn't make it. As he felt that work was more important and travelled to Alice Springs on business instead.

With much ribbing and banter throught the entire day, a near rollovers, 2 winch recoveries, shovel work, and a huge spread put on for lunch. It was a great day had by all playing in what was some extremely soft sand.

On arrival, a quick explore and play.

Dave's near rollover! Required a little extra weight on the high side as we attempted to guide him out...

Ian was quick to follow, heading up the same dune from the rear... Required help from Daves winch!

We found a monster dune up the back, not exatly sure where, but it was big. Very very soft and a lot of fun for both the boys and the kids.

Many, many attempts made at the dune, for some reason Dave's prado managed a few attempts but Dave didn't actually drive any of them. Ian had a few attempts with Jo and Lori in the car, scaring Lori on at least two occasions...

The D4D, being the only successful rig to make it to the top of the dune and (eventually, with assistance) over the top!

I should add tht my baby girl remained asleep in her baby seat, throughout the multiple attempts and the recovery at the top. What a good girl... !!!
