  • Jindabyne to Adelaide via arkaroola and or Flinders Ranges

I am planning a trip from jindabyne to adelaide travelling via arkaroola or flinders ranges , sometime late nov early dec and was wondering if anyone had done anything similar and was willing to share some tips / ideas etc. Will be travelling with the mrs and the 2 rug rats. 2yo girl and 6 yo boy. If anyone wants to come along please PM me and we go from there. At this stage there is our prado and also a mate travelling by himself in a troopy. We would like to take 5-6 days to do the whole trip and will end up in adelaide.
    Cheers
    Phil

Arkaroola is definately worth staying for 2-3 days if you have the time, you could just use it as an overnight stop but then you wouldn't have time to explore the many tracks that you can drive in the surrounding area so I would suggest if time permits look at spending some time there.
There are also many other areas worth exploring in the Flinders/Gammon Ranges, I just did the Bunyeroo Gorge and Glass Gorge drive a couple of weeks ago, theyre not challenging by any means but theres definately some great scenery on the way.
Theres some good free camping in Parachilna Gorge or you could opt to stay at Wilpena Pound resort/camping area or Rawnsley park which is run as a Top Tourist Park and offers everything from on site cabins to bush camping.
There are lots of areas and tracks to explore throughout the Flinders, I would suggest that if you can take your time to enjoy them, you'll find that once your'e there it doesn't take too long to travel between various places.
