The Boomslang bus got into a tricky situation where the unlocked front end was doing nothing and the locked rear axle was sliding the car onto a nasty angle.
The Tigerz11 winch got its first use of the day.
The photo doesn't do justice to how gnarly this hill was.
Great day out, with great company. I still had a lot of fun even though the weather turned sour almost at the end of the track and we made a decision to turn around. Probably a good decision seeings as we didn't get out till 4:30. Everyone was soaked and still had a smile on their face which is the main thing.
A shame we didn't make it to the end, but there is always next time.
Big ups to Glen for organising it and letting me tag along in a Patrol.
Will definately have to go back and get to the end!
It all went pear shaped on this rock step though. Driving slow and steady wasn't working.
Giving it some right foot didn't make matters much better. The locked rear axle was eager get to the top but the front end was hell bent on staying put. (it will become much clearer when I upload the video.
So the Aldi winch was called on to bring the front end back into line.
