It was around here where we had to turn back because of the rain.

The Boomslang bus bellied out on a boulder.

It was firmly planted on the transmission cross member.

It left a decent mark on the rock.

The Cooper ST's having traction issues in the wet.

Nearly back at the start of the track.

Ben once again took the hardest line.

We all made it out safely. It felt great to take the Prado way beyond what Mr Toyota ever had in mind for it.

The video(s) could take a while to splice together.

There is an evil pair of younsters on the loose in the Sydney region trying to take revenge on me for ignoring their trips for a few months. If you see this pair with their red bull filled 90's, approach with caution. They have attitude.
Jokes aside, hats off to our fellows trippers and my appologies for slowing you down. At the end of the day we enjoyed it tremendously but this is not really teritory for my 120. Big clearance problems compounded by the Cooper ST's that are on the back end of their life.

That certainly was a precarious angle you were at Declan, good idea to use the winch in such a situation.

Did Ben get up that last rock step in one go

You know you want to get a GQ Declan, just do it
                  Cheers,

Don't apologize Piet. The track was very demanding on the 120 but it did very well considering its clearance disadvantage. I hope we haven't killed Pradopoint trips for you now.

Yeah, without the winch I would have needed to be pulled by the GQ

Ben hardly stopped all day. He cleared the last step in one go.

I think I'm stuck with the Prado. I've spent too money much on it now. It would be hard to sell it now too. I wouldn't buy my Prado if I knew its history (which is all over Pradopoint!) My next 4by will be something more serious unless I've moved on from rock bashing as a hobby.

Sorry, so mine won't be up for at least a week (I've already uploaded too many vids this month)

Haha. (don't worry people, I still like to see nice places on mild tracks)
You put in a great effort Piet & Renee, especially when considering it was your first time using the winch, then another 4 times, and half of those in the rain!! I will never forget that silent and concerned expression you gave me... a few times..

To be honest I wasn't expecting that many clearance issues. Having experienced it now I think the 120 owners should keep clear of this track unless they're happy to both build up the track AND winch.

Ben went very well with his unlocked GQ; he clearly knows how to 4x4 as he picked very good lines everytime and had top control of the manual.

Declan couldn't stop dreaming about a replacement solid axle vehicle! There's a massive 80 series for sale near my place he should have a look at. Probably 8" of sus+body lift in the monster.

I'm definitely happy with mine. It handled this track well and I can't imagine wanting to tackle anything crazier, or drive anything taller. At the end of the day, the bigger the 4x4 the harder you need to search for a good challenge.

No need to apologise Piet, we all had a good day. Your wish was certainly granted, that winch recieved a thorough workout. It is good to see you out there tackling the harder tracks, pushing the limit is the only way you will learn what your car is capable of. And I bet you didn't think the prado would do half the things you both did in it yesterday!

It does appear that way but you had heaps of room.

Now here's a nice set of rocks which really had no easy way.

I picked what I thought was the medium line, but it may have ended up being the hardest:

Both the first and second attempts resulted in 4 wheels of spinning:

I changed lines slightly for the third attempt but put too much right foot in. What goes up must come down, and it came down on my rear lower link mount, decent dent in it now.
