  • Thompson State Forest Track Advice

Hi all, we're heading to the Thompson State Forest this weekend for some 4wheeling and need some advice on a few tracks.

Plan is to head to Merrington's or Junction camp ground on Saturday morning, setup the camper and have an early lunch. Then we'll hit the tracks for the afternoon before coming back to camp. Then more tracks on Sunday morning before before lunch at the campsite, packup and heading home early arvo.

So, what good tracks are close to Merringtons/Junction campground? We've done Deep Creek Tracks 1,2,3 & 4 as well as Beardmores and Low Saddle Track previously. Photos and videos here.

I was thinking of checking out some (not all) of the following. Comments, suggestions and photos if you have them would be great...

Vehicles will be 2 Prados. One 150 V6 (mine) and a 120 D4D. Both have good AT tyres, snorkels, 2 inch lift, bash plates, snatch recovery gear etc. Mine doesn't have a bull bar (yet). No winches.

    Moderate Tracks (from 4x4Earth.com.au)

    1. Pheasant Tk
    2. Flats Tk
    3. Williamson Spur Tk
    4. Trig Tk
    5. Sullivans Tk

    Difficult Tracks (from 4x4Earth.com.au)

    1. Army Tk
    2. S Tk

    Cheers, Sam.
