Just about every SA and many Vic 4wd clubs are down there that weekend!

Great fun for all and if you do get bogged, help is normally not far away.

well bad news, the other family we were going with has pulled out.

So I now have a camping site available from 23rd Jan leaving 27th Jan.

Its a nice quiet beachside town, love going down there as the kids can play around without cars zooming around everywhere. Normally take a drive into robe and the wife looks around the the boutique shops whilst I drag my feet behind ;-)

As for the 4wheeling, some of the best beach/dune driving you can come by and the scenery whilst doing it is spectacular.

                    Hi blackvx, all,
I'm planning to head to Robe/Beachport during that time as well and since it will be our first time there, i am wondering what the terrain and sand there are like, and is it ideal to camp at the national parks there. Any hints would be appreciated. Thanks.

                      Hey mate

It really depends on the weather. If its hot and dry then the sand will be soft and powdery. Ther are a few beaches down that way that you really need to take care on as they are extremely soft. If its been cool and raining then there generally isnt an issue.
As for camping I have never camped in any of the national parks. I have always seen plenty of people camping down there along the many drives though.

Be happy to meet up with you for a day trip if you are down that way in the same week. The more the merrier.

                      Cheers

                      Andrew

Thanks for the offer and the hints Andrew - can I get your number so when we're there we'll give you a buzz if we're not too tied up with the kids.

                          Cheers, Phil
