I'm on call for work and there's no reception on the plateau... which makes it my "catch up on things at home" weekend.

You just need a bigger antenna for your phone! Reception almost guaranteed! :-) enjoy your weekend at home, I promise we will have a boring trip in your absence!

I've been tempted to buy a big next G antenna to boost reception out in the sticks but I don't think it'll be sufficient. I once "met" an NRMA dude at Zig Zag for "some reason" early last year... even with his external antenna he didn't have reception.

I've got a 7db next g on my 150 that connects to my samsung galaxy s2.I'll test reception throughout the day tomorrow and see how it goes. I doubt the nrma guy is going to have a 1.5m 7 db next g antennae on his truck :-)

Hmm yeah I'm pretty sure his wasn't that big. If you could monitor the reception that'd be great! I'd definitely get the gear if it does the job, just haven't been convinced that it'd turn zero reception into reception good enough for broadband.

Well put it this way, about 3 hours from bourke leaving a station, I could get 5 bars reception with the antenna and nil without.

Anyway I'll watch a few youtube videos tomorrow and let you know how it goes. :-)
