Richo, That photo of you holding Peaches is your new Avatar for sure. Thank goodness no one had a camera when Gay handed me the lead!

        Cheers

Impressive stuff Gaz. Maybe I should have thought it over (more) before buying the 150 D4d.

                  Hi Folks

The weekend weather forecast at the start of the week was suspect to say the least, 35 plus degrees, rain both days with a Southern Downs thunderstorm thrown in for for fun Saturday afternoon.

But in true Pradopoint spirit 10 cars turned up Saturday to brave the elements, we ended up with 25 degrees during the day, overcast with some showers after we got back Saturday afternoon. Sunday was the same and the rain held off until everybody was well and truly on their way home.

We had Fozzy (leading the way Saturday) Craig/Ronan, Stwey/Renee, Tim/Kate, Charles/ Kaylene and Richo/Gay in Prados, with John and Gary in FJ's, Dane/Jess and Graham/Jess in Pathfinders, so a mixed bunch.

                  Camp site sorted

Introductions done it was off to the tracks,

The winch was tested first with the help of my grandson

Some strange wildlife was spotted lurking in the forest

The challenge was thrown down by the 150 to John in the white FJ after comments about towing Richo around so the hill was done by the 150 with John taking up the challenge

After lunch it was off to the lookouts with some long steep climbs and then back to camp to have Mrs Richo spot the 100 series teetering on the side of the hill

                    The recovery from another angle

Back to camp, collect some fire wood and the evening settled in for an enjoyable if a little damp campfire.

Next morning it was dampers baked in the camp oven for morning tea cooked by John and Renee (available from BCF)

Then off to the play area for some suspension testing and some recovery action (hey Tim)

Charles had a go at everything as well

Finally off to check out the other camp area

We saw a new play area for the serious guys to have a go at

A final creek crossing (thought I had better include one of the Pathfinders)

Packed up ready to go home, the weekend as very tiring for some

Overall we all had a great time, good to see some new PPer's along, the Nissan boys were overheard planning mods for the next weekend away. The park is well run and the facilities are good and clean, we will go back soon as we only saw about 20% of what was there.

See ya on the tracks, if your at Straddie over the Australia Day weekend look out for the white 150 and say hello, Richo.

                            Should be a tad slippery

                            Sadly I can't

Yes I think anywhere in the SE QLD corner is going to be pretty Yuk. Looks like Aust Day camping for people is going to be a very wet one...

For those interested, OutdoorGaz just had his story published from this trip.
You can see all the pics and read all about it in the June Edition of 4WD Camping Guide, which is on the shelves right now.

                                cheers
