Postponed due to annoying rainy weather!!!!!!!

Well we're off on our next adventure. Last weekend we spent up at Teewah beach camping and travelling through the 4wd tracks. Lots of fun!! Had never been to Rainbow Beach before, I think I want to move there!!

This weekend we're heading bush. Have heard lots of good reports about Gordon Country, and we've been wanting to go there since we got our Prado. We're planning on leaving early on Saturday and heading back late on Sunday.

Does anyone have any advice/suggestions for the best part of the property to camp on? And what is best on offer for off road shenanigans?

Hopefully the weather will co-operate and we'll get the truck nice and dirty

Well, you would have gotten the truck dirty
I wonder if you can get past the main creek to the campgrounds with all this rain?
    Cheers, Leon

We pulled the pin on this trip Friday night. No-one wanted wet, muddy camping gear for one night away. Hopefully we can get back out there in the next couple of weeks

I was just referring to this quote...

Yep, can't imaging it would have been nice to camp this weekend... A bit soggy under foot.
        Cheers, Leon

It's ok... I'm planning to try again 17/18th of March. Once netball season starts there'll be no weekend camping trips

If you plan on doing any off road tracks, Janowen four wheel drive park is your only option as the tracks in Gordon Country are closed. We were there a fortnight ago and was disappointed to find that tracks closed after we arrived at the campsite. The best camping site would be the flat area (parallel to the creek) located inside the cabin grounds in Banshee Valley.

Have a look at the trip planning there is a Janowen Park weekend coming up we'll be going and the tracks and facilities I think are better.

See ya on the tracks, Richo.

Thanks for the info, just the sort of thing I was hoping for. Bummer about the tracks, will let our friends know as they were planning on going during the week.

I had read about the Janowen Park trip. I was a bit worried about going only because my hubby is playing cricket that weekend, and camping on my own? Not sure if I'm ready to do that. Might look at going down there late in March.

We were also planning on going to Rover Park on the May long weekend.... just really REALLY want to get back out in the bush/on the beach and away from suburbia!!!
                Thanks guys
