  • Sirromet Winery - Corporate Functions

Anyone been to the 4WD track at Sirromet Winery (Redlands QLD for those out-of-towners)?

    Saw this on their website:

    > 4WD Track ; Features hill climbs, dry and wet creek crossings, "log ride" for suspension testing and "side raise" experience

If only they had more info, perhaps we Pradopointers could descend/ascend the course as part of a Pradopoint day..

    Cheers,

    Dave

I'd be in for that (as long as there was wine tasting involved too!)

Sounds like an interesting day trip. Hopefully their 4wd track is better than their wine.

Was invited to the Holden Adventure launch many moons ago and used their 4WD track so might tell u how hard it was, but that was about 8 years ago so maybe it has been upgraded.

Lived in the Redlands before the winery was opened never even heard of the track. There used to be some great tracks in behind where they are but have been closed for years.

That would make a great SEQ day out!

See ya on the tracks, Richo.

Looking at Google Maps I can't see any tracks on their property... maybe they've made a training area or something...
I have had a play down Gramzow Rd near the driver training facility but that was quite a few years ago.

There is an area in the driver training fracility that Nissan use to release their 4by's maybe they are utilising this as it is only 5 mins down the road.

Have a look at Google between Habernan Rd and German Church Rd there used to some extreme driving in there.

Went for a 2 minute drive up gramzow rd and came to the end near the hill climb race track. was not sure if its private property or not? there was a track that kept going but looked like there used to be a gate there so i turned around.

I stopped when the ruts got to about 3' deep! Big tyres and a storm soon after I'd say. I believe it goes all the way through but those ruts prevented me from going any further.

I popped in on my way home from the coast yesterday and the tracks that were there are now on private property. I did see the Driver Training centre 4WD test track is still being used so my bet is that is what Sirromet are using. PS know what Sirromet stands for, I do.

See ya on the tracks, Richard.
