Fraser Island at Easter

Hey PP'ers

I am going to Fraser during the easter holidays travelling from Sydney. I will be towing a c/t and staying at central station for 6 nights ( 9th - 15th). Is anyone else heading over there during this time ,as it would be grest to meet up and have a beer or three !!!
Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated

We're heading over. We get there on the monday (9th I think) We're staying up at Orchid for the week. Haven't been to Central Station Station before - so can't give any tips on that part of the island but

Look out for backpackers
Look out for Fraser Is. Buses.

Hook point can be soft but hit it at low tide and no dramas and the drive up the beach from there is easy. The most chopped up part at easter (that we've driven) is Indian Head - deffinately worth heading up there with a few beers to watch the chaos.

Last time I was up there was for a boys trip, saw about 3 prados pull massive trailers through with no dramas. Also saw two idiots in jacked up nissans trying to get a camper through for someone else, had it in Low Range, air lockers on and couldn't make it past about 15m, we thought one of them was going to blow an engine the way he was going, eventually he put it in high range and cruised through. But not until he'd ripped it up for everyone else.

Everyone who was struggling to get through had one thing in common - they hadn't let their tyres down. We asked one guy what he was running, he replied 38. One of the blokes watching told him to take em up to 40 and see if it makes a difference.

Thanks for advice about the buses , and will have a keen eye on the backpackers too !!!
Will be doing a bit of sight seeing but mainly just some R&R

Same plan here, only had the 4days last year and it wasn't enough so we took the week off this time around.

We'll keep an eye for you, especially if we head to central station.

Hi Michael,
we are planning to go for the same period.
Been there some 7 years ago but only for two nights.
Planning to pull a light ct as well.
We are from Hornsby so might even meet along the way.

Nice one, one thread same name ;-)

and yep, we are camping at Fraser as well.
Not sure yet about the camping spot yet as I had to hold back the booking due to some work commitments.
But preferable somewhere at the beach
