They'll need traffic lights up there soon - I'm heading that way late July through august too. Leaving Adelaide july 23rd and crossing west - east with the old man (80 series) and a mate (60 series). Allowing 4 weeks round trip to take in as much as we can!

Seems like the thing to do this year. I'm going with a group of around 15 cars in Sept / Oct.
