How did you guys go getting out at the end? when I went there was bog hole after bog hole and some were deep. we had an idiot with us that clearly didnt care about his 80 and just drove everything without thinking so it was easy to work out where NOT to drive.90Series GXL 3.4L V6 - Snorkel, sports muffler, 3" suspension lift, 285's, 30mm diff drop, Brown Davis bash plate. Hey Evo,
There were plenty holes along the top but we took the edges, which were quite shallow, and not terribly boggy. Maybe it was worse back then, or maybe our MT's make them look mild
I'd love to splash through the big holes and play in mud, but yeah, too much cleaning and too expensive replacing parts!!glen_ep - engineered, 4" lift, 33" 255/85R16, lockers, 4.88 ratios www.pradopoint.com.au/showthread.php?17237 www.youtube.com/user/glenep www.fb.com/groups/ToyotaPrado90

I know what you mean there....when I did monkey gum I had ALT issues. I didnt splash through anymore mud then i had too but I didnt realise the rubber flap in the left wheel arch was hanging off so all mud went straight to the ALT.Originally posted by glen_ep View Post

QUICK FIX: we found was let it dry for a while then give it a "tap" with a hammer and it works again.
However bearings were shot by the time I got home, some people I spoke to seem to think the bearings are mad of gold. I found my local bearing shop stocks them and it cost me $15 for new bearings.90Series GXL 3.4L V6 - Snorkel, sports muffler, 3" suspension lift, 285's, 30mm diff drop, Brown Davis bash plate. ARB has fixed the airline .however he tells me because of the articulation the sway bar must have ripped off the airline..he says he has repositioned the line and hopefully should not have any more issues ...........Hopefully ?Originally posted by glen_ep View PostGood spotting there Max, and lucky to find it now rather then later, on our next trip!90 series, Air lockers , 2'' TOugh DOG Adjustable's (very happy so far), TJM Bar , 9500 lbs OX winch Plasma rope,TX3100 UHF radio, Mickey's MTZ , ARB Air compressor,

I wonder what possessed them to install your compressor under the driver's seat, right above the exhaust???? The only other 90 series Prado's I have seen with the compressor mounted in the cab have been under the passenger seat.Originally posted by mastermanoj View PostARB has fixed the airline .however he tells me because of the articulation the sway bar must have ripped off the airline..he says he has repositioned the line and hopefully should not have any more issues ...........Hopefully ?Declan: 1997 GXL 4.5 Auto 80 series on LPG, ARB bullbar, 2" OME lift, 32" MTZ, GME UHF, rear ARB locker, Kaymar spare wheel carrier

no the air compressor lines are ok .....it was the air line just above the rear diff that came in contact with the exhaust wouldn't know whether its completely fixed unless i take it for another drive90 series, Air lockers , 2'' TOugh DOG Adjustable's (very happy so far), TJM Bar , 9500 lbs OX winch Plasma rope,TX3100 UHF radio, Mickey's MTZ , ARB Air compressor,

Had the same thing happen a few years ago. My exhaust is a one off twin system so not much clearance to tuck over the diff and the airline nows goes closer to the exhaust.
The problem is that the air line has to be relatively flexible and loose to allow for articulation otherwise it can pull out of the diff fitting or bend and eventually break at a weakened spot if it's cabled tied too tight to something like the sway. Been there, done that!!
My intended solution was to buy or have made up, a 90 deg brass outlet and run the air line parallel along the diff until it clears the exhaust area under full articulation. Until I get around to it the short term fix is I used some thermal exhaust tape from Rocket Industries and wrap a 12" length of the pipes. Works a treat but just case I carry an air line repair kit from ARB.Tony
