  • Qld Labour day long weekend what are your plans

Given its next weekend have started my planning a little late. Thinking of taking my son and Brother to North Straddie but already Stradbroke ferries have no available return journeys on the Monday, the Big red cat had some left leaving Straddie at 615am Monday but not keen on that.

So now looking for some other options. Anyone else got any plans?

Heading to rainbow with some friends on Friday. Probably drive up the beach on fri, and back the highway on Monday. A bit of hanging out with kids from 6 to 14 ish while we are there. Weather permitting we'll head to DI PT one day and do some other exploring. Hoping for sunshine :-)

We're leaving on the Saturday (very early) and following the dirty weekends trip from boonah to queen mary falls, then heading down to Sundown NP... hoping to come back via bald rock and do the rest of the dirty weekends/condamine gorge on the monday.

Heading out to North Straddie on Friday afternoon and returning on Monday. Booked the Big Red Cat ages ago. Wanted to change the return ferry from 12pm to 10am last week and it was fully booked.

Jeff & Cel , you may not be able to do your return trip through the Gorge on your way back also if this rain keeps up. You'll probably be able to get a good idea what it's going to be like on your way through on Saturday

We're very open and flexible with our trip, I don't feel like floating down a river on my long weekend

I'd like to, but will be rebuilding my UCA's as the bushes and ball joints have flogged out . On a brighter note my rear diff has been fixed so I should be back on the tracks very soon!

Just wondering if anyone who has done the Condamine Gorge Run can give me some info on how long it actually takes to get through? We're planning on going from Boonah to Queen Mary Falls on Saturday, but not sure of what time we should be leaving. The "plan" is to make it to Sundown National Park before nightfall. Does this sound at all possible? Or am I reaching for the stars?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Sounds like you have a busy time ahead but will be worth it to get back on the tracks double d

As I have mainly camped on Fraser where you cant have campfires I havent needed firewood. But on Moreton we can have campfires. Do most people just get their wood from the servo or can you buy offcuts etc from somewhere else?
