What a great day.
Thanks Samo for kicking off the idea and getting the ball rolling. Samo also did a great job leading the conga line. I get so disorientated when it comes to the sand and snow, follow the leader is my motto in these situations.
Great to meet up and place a face to the names. Nice to 2meetya Damien, Byrnsie, Samo, Bludger, Yota and Craig. Unfortunately I have no embarrassing pics to show as my camera batteries died…........ damn it
I lashed out and purchased an annual pass for $30 so I'm keen to do it again. Looking forward to the next meet up no matter where it is.

OK. Here we go with a bit of a trip report.
We all met up at 10.00am about 2 hours north of Sydney. While the introductions were happening, we all "aired down" ready for the sand.
Most of us made it across the notorious entry dunes without issue. Yota's brother was having some problems with his Suzuki.
The Western Australia Pradopointers sent over a spy to see if us New South Welshmen knew how to have fun in our Prados.
We all lined up for the obligatory photo shoot in front of the shipwreck.
Yota's brothers Suzuki retired hurt early in the day. Fortunately there were two Prado's in his family (Yota & his dad) that could link up together to slingshot the poor Suzuki back to civilisation.
We then set off to go play in the dunes. The soft sand had a few of us trying a couple of runs in different gears until we worked out the best combination that could get us to the summit. Top of the world!
On the decent, the sun glare made it fun trying to pick the right lines. When going through one bowl, I got stuck on a wind drift that I didn't see until it was too late. This gave us an opportunity to refresh our recovery skills. Samo was able to snatch me out with ease, albeit with two snatch straps joined together.
Good looking bunch (?)
We then came across a nice firm flat section that was just begging for some donut action.

Note to self: Wind up windows before doing circuit work!
(Samo, I am looking forward to the video footage!)
Time for a debrief and a cleansing ale.
Samo and myself decided to set up camp and stay the night. Tried our hand at fishing with no success. A few more ales were consumed!
Woke up to a perfect morning. Blue skies - no wind. Bacon & Eggs for brekky. Packed up before heading down the beach, across the dunes and back out via Larvis Lane.
Aired up about 11am. Back in Sydney by 1pm. Next two hours spent vacuuming the car and hosing out the chassis rails.
Great to meet everyone that came along. Can't wait for the next outing.
Cheers - Byrnsie (Greg)

Looks as though you all had a great time. Has there been any word on a Barringtons meet/day out?
I am now expecting to be in Port Stephens as of the 27th of Nov and am up for a day out if anyone is around. Probably the wrong time of year now as everyone will be heading off on their Chrissy hols.Roll on the 2010 Pradopoint GTG

I just happened to be in the area and thought I'd drop by for a head count. You guys on the eastern edge of the rock are getting better ... but no cigar
Looks like a great trip. Well done guys.
