Mate travel on Sunday for $50 return can stay as long as you like. Other than that I recommend the campsites closer to Jumpinpin soley for the stars at night and the fishing gutters out front.
Get a beer at the pub but dont get a meal as its a great spot for an ale but expensive for a meal.
On arrival get up to brown lake I have an old trip report from there. Did Bacon and Eggs on the weber there.
The bakery at Dunwich is a great spot for an arrival bite and then drive across the island for the beach access.....
Straddy the gift that keeps on giving...

Other than that contact Geoffy, Rogerthatv2 & Richoson as these 3 are the guru's on Straddie...Adder rock being the consensusLast edited by Goodwinfamily; 05-06-2012, 06:11 PM.

Thanks for the tips. We booked a Saturday morning trip over and Monday afternoon return a few weeks back. We booked early this time as last long weekend we ended up camping at Moreton because we left NSI too late. Moreton was great but we are looking forward to NS.

If you see a white dualis stuck on the beach can you stop and drag them back to the black stuff please Jason? A friend from work is over there from today with one of her friends. No doubt they'll see straddie beaches and want to ignore my advice to have some support before driving their car along them.
Girls weekend away. Who ever heard of such a thing?

Will keep an eye out for them Wazza.
Having a look at the forecast it says shower or two to showers over the Sat to Mon for Brisbane but when I select Point Lookout as the location it says heavy rain for both sat and sun easing to rain on Monday. Huh how can the forecast be that different between Brisbane and Pt lookout for the same days? I am getting this info from the weather app pocketlite weather i think its called.2016 200 VX TTD Pearl White

Yes an interesting point is that cape Moreton has 1.5 times the rain that Brisbane receives anually. I did check Cape Moretons forecast and it was similar to Bris ie showers / shower or two. Will see how the forecast changes for them over the next two days. Will still be a good time as you say.
Cheers

There's an old Straddie saying "if it's fine in Brisbane it's pissin down on Straddie". I'll call you tomorrow but with the big swell coming up the coast Main Beach may not be drivable.
