    Hi Paddy,

Great tracks up that way, especially between Jamieson and SheepYard Flat / Buller.

Look for Mitchells Track, that is great fun with a couple of challenges (some VERY steep parts, winch in the wet for sure..bordering on dangerous)...the track is a bit of a loop.

We were up in this area Oct 2011 explored tracks between SheepYard Flat and Jamieson, there are some really good tracks. We were the first ones through for the season so lots of overgrowth and scratches made, not sure how they would be now....can be difficult in the wet (and dry in some places) so be prepared.

Or head down towards Woods Point, great tracks there...White Star Track. (Some tracks closed below woods point).

High Country Digital Maps are not bad for this area...

What a fantastic area, we are very lucky.

Yes you are very lucky indeed!
Your parks people are far less bureaucratic and anal about locking off tracks (compared to NSW), and the country on offer to explore is amazing.
Every time we head down your way to high country, I come home and wonder why I didn’t move to your state when I was young with no ties.
      Enjoy your state.
2008 Diesel Prado with extra stuff added. I drive it on the road and other places too.

Well we had a ball! I will list the tracks we went on when I get home just in case others decide to get up here. Considering the rain we had the tracks aren't too bad at all.. But fun! Got a few more pin strips but with some elbow grease I'll get them outClick image for larger version

            Hey Bernie
No winch shit itself not so long ago so in the market for a new one. I had a mate in his GU Patrol snatch me out. I've got some photos so I'll upload them for you! Most of the track weren't to bad fairly narrow in spots and sometimes boggy or steep but nothing to bad

Nice, looks like you re-discovered some tracks (maybe logging) that have not been used for a while.
It a good trip when you can have a bit of fun, get stuck a little but not get to muddy or do any damage.

Did you Track it on a map by any chance?

I absolutely love that pocket of the high country looking at the photos just makes you want to get in the fourby and get back into it!
