Nothing serious went wrong, Max is part of the Toyota test team. Gave us some excitement to start the day and to use some team work to work out the safest way to get out, which was to keep driving with support of a winch and a strap attached to the chassis. Just went to show how much difference a couple inches makes, maybe the wife is right.
After the early excitement we continued on and went exploring, found a few fun spots that we hadnt visited before. All was going well and we were about to head to the Lost City for lunch when we had a slight problem with a tyre and found that running 0 PSI is a little low for driving. Bit of fun changing a tyre in the mud on the side of the road and we headed off for the Lost City.
Plenty of water and a more fun we arrived at the Lost City car park for lunch and at a balmy 3 degrees, any spot in the sun was appreciated. We tried to reseat the tyre suffering pressure issues and eventually decided to 4wding was more fun and headed off.
The drive back out took a different route which had a few challenges that we all enjoyed and showed again, a couple inches makes a big difference in achieving a enjoyable result.
After eventually getting back to the main road, someone decided that we should head back along the powerlines, which again required team work, this time to get Ryzz back out. It seemed like a good idea but a slip on a slippery bank put a good side lean on the Prado, while not as impressive as Max earlier, still could have gone bad. After some discussion and winching, all was good again and we headed back to the car park as the sun rapidly dropped to pump the tyres back up and I found an issue with my compressor. We did catch up with the rest of the group from the days trip and had a quick catch up while preparing for the drive home.
Thanks to Ryzz, Max and Braddo for a great day again and there was a comment from my passenger on the way home, about a winch may be a very handy thing to have...........
It certainly was a fun filled day with plenty of entertainment provided by Max and Ryzz in their 150s and more than one heart stopping moment from Max!
It was good to see that a 120 with a rear locker can keep up with the 150s and their traction control! Can't wait to get some better tyres and see what we can do then!
Cheers, Brad

A new set of BFG AT's or Mickey ATZ will give you significant gain, especially with the locker, you should be able to get almost anywhere!
My Rig: 150 GXL D4D, Tough Dog adjustable suspension with 60mm lift, Polyair bags, ARB Winch Bar, Warn Winch with Dynamica Rope, Outback Ideas recovery points, GME UHF, HID Low/High Beam, Lightforce Genesis HID Spots, Dual Battery Setup with rear power outlets, ARB air compressor in engine bay, ~30L Watertank mounted behind fueltank.
Well I certainly don't want to get anywhere that I can't get out of! One of the reasons I've only got a rear locker as I'm not keen on getting a winch to lug around.
Definitely will be upgrading the tyres before the GTG!
Cheers, Brad

I got my BFG's for a really good price from Goodspanner on Harbord Rd in Brookvale (couple of doors down from Toyota Service). Try them and see if they are still competitive.

Thanks Ryzz- do you remember how much? Bob Jane quoted me $345 ea for BFG AT's in light truck spec.

Nice one, they are a good bunch of guys there. They only charged my wife $10 to fix the bead on the tyre from Sat. Ive had them do wheel alignments on my Clubsport, saw them test driving it in the streets post alignment, and the guy driving it, was driving it really slowly and gently, which I appreciated a lot as well.
