  • North Lefroy Bay - Ningaloo Station

I've just got confirmation for a camping spot at North Lefroy Bay for the 2nd week of the July holidays and wondered if anyone has been there. What's the camping, fishing and weather like at this time of the year.

Didn't go to Ningaloo Station, but came back from Coral Bay almost two weeks ago and the weather was awesome! Well, kind of.

The first 4 days we were there it was awesome - approx. 28C but still warm enough to swim - clear blue skies and all that jazz.

Then we had a day of rain and realised how little there is to do with a 20mth old in a 1 bedroom villa.

The last full day we were there the morning was rain again before it cleared up for the arvo.

    You'll love it!

I went for a fish at Maud's Landing twice (for about an hour each time and left before sunset mainly due to having to go back to cook dinner) and was using some plastics, poppers and stick baits. Stick baits proved to be most effective and I caught one skippy - chucked him back cos he was only a pup.

I think I should have posted this in the trip planning and reports forum, and I might have got a few more replies

Dunno whether to take that as an insult or not?

Not much luck with the replies, so maybe someone can suggest where to go camping in the school holidays, where the weather is warm and it isn't too far away as we only have a week. We might have to fly to Knx and borrow a mates car and go camping to El Questro or somewhere if no one can suggest somewhere

Well we ended up at North Lefroy camping and it was beautiful, but definitely something to remember is when the wing comes through it howls. Our tent ended up ripping so we had to come into Coral Bay to try and fix it and had to stay at the backpackers for he night. We are heading back there tomorrow to continue fishing, snorkeling and beach driving.
