st leg - Brisbane to Coffs to Visit friends for 3 days - left Brisbane 12.30ish viisted family in Ballina left there 3.10pm arrived in Coffs 6.10pm - saw 15 Kangaroos on the Grafton shortcut.

nd leg - Coffs to Tamworth (1night)- Freezing cold and wet but enjoyed the Waterfall Way and visited Dangar Falls, Ebor Falls and Wollomombi Falls (one of the tallest falls in NSW) Lunch in Fuss Pots Cafe in Ebor 5c and drizzle. Toasted sandwich was great! Good self contained accomodation at the Edward Parry Motel

rd leg - Tamworth to Dubbo (2nights)- Fine again - Out early (for us) at 9.15am for Morning tea of homemade biscuits and sandwiches with Great Aunt Agnes and then dirt roads to Nundle then a visit to Hanging Rock then dirt roads to Willow Tree for Lunch. Then dirt roads from Willow Tree to Merriwah got to Dubbo at 5.50pm checked into the Country Apartments 2br self contained for 1st night and splurged and stayed in the Zoo at Zoofari on the 2nd night. Good fun for a splurge with a capital S. Dont checkin too early as once in the lodge your no supposed to leave so wait till 2.30 to checkin before the afternoon tour. Kids really enjoyed the Zoo and the tours wre great especially seeing the Black Rhino and White Rhino which were not on display, and feeding the Giraffe.

th Leg - Dubbo to Leura (3nights) - Left Dubbo at 12.45 after morning tour, buffet breakfast and cycle around the Zoo and headed for Leura in the Blue Mountains. Got to Bathurst around 4 and did a lap of Mount Panorama at 60km - got to Leura at 5.30pm found our keys and moved into Cherry Tree Cottage on Megalong for 3 nights. No axe supplied so managed to get the fire going with firestarters and my trust $ coleman fan. HAd a good time in and around Leura, visited the 3 sisters, went to the markets even though it was COLD ( started to sleet at the markets briefly), thaks to this forum visited the Glow Worm tunnel near Newnes via the now closed Zig Zag Railway. It was a great trip and all enjoyed the adventure.

th Leg - Leura to Bowral (3 nights) - Left Leura at 12.30 after our first breakfast out for the trip and headed to Jenolan Caves for a tour of the Chiefley Cave.We left Jenolan Caves at 3.30 and headed towards Bowral via Gingkin , Shooters Hill through the slippery and FUN muddy roads. At 5.30 we had a decision to make go via Golburn or take the 'shortcut' via Wombbeyan Caves road in the dark. e rang our host at Southdown Coattage to say we would be late in and asked her advice which was go the Caves Road. It was an adventure in the dark!!! Bowral was nice COLD and I was over the shops by the 2nd day. Melting Moments at teh Bowral Cafe were good though.

th Leg - Bowral to Stanwell Park(3nights) - Left Bowral and headed down Kangaroo Valley - stopped off at Fitzroy Falls (Kids refused to get out of the car so we left them in it) great falls and walks would have spent more time there if I could have. Uneventfall trip to Stanwell Park to stay with my Cousin for three nights.

th Leg - Stanwell Park to Cessnock (3nights) - Stayed at the Dairy Farmers Cottage which was great - nice fire somewhere for the kids to play outside and lots of wineries. Visited - Brokenwood, McGuigans, Tempus Two, First Creek , Constable, and another one I think .

th Leg - Cessnock to Ballina for two nights and then home again to Brisbane

All up about 3300km on the new Michelin Cross Terrains - filled up in Blackheath when Diesel was 137.9/ltr and did not add fuel till Ballina which I splashed and dashed to get us to Brisbane for another fill up at 138.9/ltr - 1927km on 196ltrs
