  • LITTLE DESERT NP, Victoria -Any Recommended Campsites & Tracks

    Hi,

I've had a good search on the site and can't find anything relating to my search. A few of us (up to 5 cars) are heading to Little Desert NP next weekend and wondered whether anyone had any recommendations/comments on camp grounds in the Desert?? I've found the following, from west to east (which is our intended ravelling direction):

    a) Broughton's Waterhole
    b) Red Gum Swamp
    c) Kiata Camp
    d) Ackle Bend
    e) Horseshoe Bend

Any feedback or alternative suggestions would be gratefully received.

Also, can anyone recommend any particular tracks worth tackling? Most of us are well-equipped and planning to have a look around as well as test our skills on the sand tracks.

    Thanks in advance.

    Cheers

    Hi,

Spent a day there last week, as the tracks are damp the sand is pretty firm at 25psi you won't have any probs.....
Sorry Maybe try 40 psi and high range hahaha..... Or 2wd if we could.....
    Never camped there.
There us a small list if seasonal closures mainly a few on the east side.
Have a good weekend, nice place....

      Thanks ####,

If they've had the rain in thee that we've got in Melbourne this week then 40psi might be fine...!!! Thanks for the heads up on track closures - I will have a look at the list and plan accordingly. Looking forward to it.

      Cheers
      John
