The plan was for a day trip up to Mount Mee and then cut across to the glasshouse on Sunday, but unfortunately several of the other Prado’s could not make it, so we were solo for the day. Instead we turned it into a relaxed family trip. It was the perfect opportunity to take our little 18week old baby for his first 4wd trip!
I spoke to the head ranger the other day (thanks for the heads up Hazza) who was keen for a chat and indeed all the tracks were opened up this weekend after the recent rain. So we headed up to Dayboro , then went in via McKenzie St, Laceys Creek Rd, then right onto Mount Pleasant Rd, then finally Mount Brisbane road and your there. This drops you in below the Gantry and you can work your way through the southern tracks and then on to A-Break and the western escarpment and finally the northern tracks.
The map on Page 10. http://www.derm.qld.gov.au/parks/dag...itor-guide.pdf
All the tracks were in very good condition and the ruts & washouts just recently filled.
My boys loved A- break, laughing all the way up. I think they were the ones disappointed that we were not up to the sills in mud though!
