VIC - COBAW Day Trip - Difficult tracks - Anyone interested?

Hi,

It seems not too much in the way of any trips here in VIC.
I assume many are tourers...... and not so so much the day trippers......?
Anyway I would like to be doing touring, but with young Kids (7 months) makes it a little hard.

So therefore im forced to use the Prado for day trips or short close trips away :-)
My favorite/close place so far to have a playdaytrip on some hard tracks is at Cobaw.
Now i dont have an extreme vehicle, just a lift, bashplate, and stronger sidesteps and a winch (just incase).
there are some pretty washed out tracks there, definately a couple tracks I cannot do, but plenty to have some fun in a close to standard vehicle. It is very rocky and not overly muddy so a/t IMO are ideal.

SO ITS ON.......

plan A. Meet Sunday 23/09/2012 8am or so, mc snuffin, fuel etc, to depart 8.30am at bp/Maccas on Calder hwy
outside Calder pk raceway. (outbound side).

Who's coming?:

1. Anthony - 120 Prado
2. Fred (frenchy) land cruiser 1985 bj73
3. Shan - 120 Prado
4.Don - Jackaroo 2 Jackeroos? mmm.....



This day will be for drivers at least with some offroad driving experience. (not newbies).
Should have own recovery gear.
Never turn up without your own snatch strap and rated bow shackles, (like some do).
However don't really expect to need to use it.

Water
Food - I'm due for a cook up :-)

Chainsaw

Can't make it next weekend (Away up to Echuca) but am up for another trip, need to get more VIC trips happening.

Thankx for the replies so far, yes we need a monthly trip i think.
My bad, I can't do this sat anyway, management reminded me of a wedding we are going to.
Te weather looks average anyway.
Will Most likely go out on Sunday but likely to wombat again.

I'm interested in Vic day trips. Sunday's work best for me. Kids sports all Saturdays.
Stock 120 VX, so cannot go too extreme. Did enjoy the last Cobaw trip we did.

Going to get out for the day Sunday.
Will make a decision Sunday morning whether we go to Cobaw or wombat.

Also your suburb, depending where ppl are coming from, I will then arrange a meeting point by Saturday.
Will be planning to meet at about 8am to leave by 8.15am.

Thanks Nick, I like to get out every second Sunday as a minimum.
Or if there's better weather on the Saturday I will switch days when possible.
If the weather is good gotta get out!

As the wether gets better its going to have to to be days not day :-)

I'm up for a day trip too, need to clear the cobwebs after the winter, Saturdays best for me, although can fit in the odd Sunday. can't do this weekend unfortunately.
