We then headed north to Waddy Point.
Nice beach drive then tackle Indian Head.
Was very soft sand with deep wheel tracks halfway up and a real nasty drop off.
Managed to make it with a big run up & lots of right foot.

Nice Jamie, u did it easy, that is a far size van/ camper to tow through there especially as the sand would be fine and soft.

Thanks for posting and the info on the tracks. We are there this weekend coming for 3 nights and cannot wait. Glamping this time but and leaving the camper at home and staying in a villa at Kingfisher. Really looking forward to it.-----------------------

Looks like you had a great trip with the family, I went over there back in 1990 and hired a little Suzuki 4wd to scoot around, but we were not allowed past Indian Head so missed out seeing Sandy Cape. I will be going over next year maybe and see how much the island has changed, and finally camp at Sandy Cape.
Saw the 4WD Action DVD on their recent trip over there so it is on my must do list.Blue Storm 150 GXL 4D4 PRADO and 2014 Cub Brumby Camper My rig build http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread.php?25698-Derek11-s-2012-Blue-Storm-150-GXL-build-up

We had a great stay at Kingfisher in the Banksia Villas, really nice (a little dated but for the price and size it was great, plus your not there for the villa, its all about the island). Our driving was all of 5kms... Some backpacker git decided to get drunk, go for a drive at 9pm on Saturday night, got stuck 5kms out of kingfisher and dumped his car in the middle of the track and left it... Not happy. 50 something cars in both directions stuck and many annoyed people who missed the barge.
Kingfisher acutally came along, smashed a window and pushed it off the track. Still we hung around the resort and had some good family time. Been there heaps before and will go again by the end of the year.
Enjoy your trip.
