Not much of a fisherman so can't help there.

conditions change dramatically and quickly down that way, tracks can totally different to drive from one day to the next, let alone weeks and months apart.

The only real advise for that area is to stay high on the beaches, whilst the hard wet sand closer to the water can be tempting the locals will tell you to stay clear of it. They are not common but there can be quicksand holes closer to the waters edge, hit one of these and its game over, instant write off! We spoke with the Ranger down there a week before the GTG and he mentioned that one of the other rangers lost a cruiser in one of these holes a while back trying to take the easy way out.

Oh, and low tyre pressures are the go, 15-20 is recommended, if its warm and dry I would look more at 15, South of beachport through Canunda on the beaches 15 may still be too high. Personally I have never had to go below 8psi down that way

maxtrax are your best friend down there.

                    Cheers Andrew

Couple of days in Warrnambool & Mt Gambier, Robe, Victor Harbor, City, Murray Bridge and 5 or 6 water falls around... and whatever I find in between now and then
                            No hard set plans yet...

What I am told is that the problem is you cant see them, you might drive around for days on the wet hard sand and not have an issue, but hit one and your buggered, just not worth the risk. Apart from that if you go for the 4 wheelin, why drive down on the hard stuff anyway?

                              Cheers Andrew
