beachport is the closest beach to my place being only 2 hours or so away. depending on how harvest is going I might come say g'day.

We usually stay at the Southern Ocean tourist Park at Beachport. The GTG stayed here and I am sure all were happy with the place. The new managers are a huge improvement over the nutter that used to run the show.

There aree a number of bush camping options at Canunda and North or Beachport, however I have never been a fan of camping in the dunes, give me a good desert anyday

yeah mine is hard to miss down here...hehhe
just got back from lake eyre...far out! hard on tyres and all sorts of gear...took the shortcut from the strezlecki across to woolintania via the freelings HS? (where the old talc mine is)..BUGGER ME DEAD! took us 4 hours to go 100klm! no mud at all....i sand blasted the front of the hired camper clean of paint...rocks the size of golfballs ...anyhoo.....yes im approaching the other half in the morning to see if we can go and not interfeer with other commitments etc...but yes...i will want to meet up for at least an overnighter over the weekend

Bags i reckon i saw ur rig down at dingas on the weekend? mine is also a white prado with black gxl rims and bfg's. i could be keen if i can get a leave pass.

Settled in 1847, and once one of the most important ports in the state, Robe is now a holiday destination and the home port of a commercial cray fishing fleet. This historic town lies on Guichen Bay, named by Nicholas Baudin on his voyage of discovery in 1802. Robe is the ideal spot for fishing and swimming holidays. Safe bay beaches edge the town and just two kilometres north, Long Beach stretches for nine kilometres. Unusually, you can drive your car onto the beautiful white sand of this beach and choose a secluded spot for swimming and surfing. In winter this is not recommended as bogging is a possibility. Obelisk Road heads out to Cape Dombey where a cliff top walking track leads to the ruins of an old gaol and an obelisk that was and still is a navigational beacon for mariners

Steve, the compressor started working and pumped up the rear on Tuesday when I was taking it to Nunawading Toyota..
It seems like the brain decided to shutdown the compressor for some reason on Sunday.
All good now and hopefully stays like that..

i keep coming across comments like this.....

WOW! Is exactly how to describe this trip it is utterly amazing how you can go from the dunes to the beach in multiple spots but the views are awesome especially when you pop up over an sand dune to discover what almost looks like an untouched private beach cove with aqua blue water and perfect white sands. Done this twice now both starting from beachport and now I can't wait to do it from the robe end and back. Hopefully soon.
