You can certainly see it as you come out on to the beach but I don't think the road is threatened just yet.

Everybody should try it at least once.

The king tides made the beach great to drive, even 1hr after high tide, but any inland track was badly cut up. I recovered 2 Prados, 1 Landcrusier and a Mazda CX9. Yep, a CX9. They came over at Kingfisher, managed to get over the hill but had it on its belly 100m after the split sharp left hand bend. We recovered them twice. They got it stuck again trying to turn around. The track to KF is really bad and the big hill on the way back from Lake Mc was really bad as well. That is where we recovered 1 Prado and the Cruser. One group of Asians got their Prado bogged in the intersection just before Pile Valley on the Central Station to Eurong roads. Even saw one guy get bogged on the Yidney Rocks bypass!
Fishing was poor but we got onto a school of Dart which I got my 5yr old son onto for his first fishing attempt. He loved it.
Eli Creek was battered by the king tides. trees and coffee rock was exposed in the creek. The tides caused a backup in the creek so it was unusually deep. It was up to the second step at the bridge. The bottom of the creek at the beach was full of leaf litter so it wasn't looking at its best. By the end of the week though, it had cleaned up, thanks to the bus loads of backpackers trampling through, and some sand returned on the last 2 king tides.
When we were leaving, they had 2 barges going, and there were 20 cars on the beach at Inskip. Got out of there just in time! There was one car bogged and someone else that had obviously been bogged as their trailer was still there, bogged. Glad I wasn't stuck behind that trying to get onto Inskip!
